FAQ’s about our Sunday Service

Why? We gather on a Sunday morning to meet with God: to honour Him in worship, to learn more of His ways from the Bible, to ask in prayer for our needs and those of others, and to spend a little time with each other. We expect that through the Holy Spirit we will know God’s presence with us as we honour His son, Jesus Christ.

When? 10am on Sunday mornings

Where? 41 Hobson Avenue, Kerikeri, in town opposite the Farmers’ Market.  There is a large car park on site - drive through to the back of the building. Our main entrance is alongside this driveway.

What happens? Our Sunday services are informal and can vary in format but we usually have:

  • Singing (words are projected onto a screen at the front - please ask if you wish to have a copy of large printed words)

  • A time of prayer and proclaiming God’s Words

  • Sometimes we have a ”Celebration Box” - where we celebrate achievements and God’s goodness;

  • A Speaker will teach - usually from the Bible

  • Sometimes we share communion. If communion is part of the service you will be guided as to what it is about and what to do if you wish to join in.

We don’t take an “offering” during the service - there is a box in the Foyer if you wish to give a financial koha.

Who comes? Everyone is welcome: there will be our regulars, visitors from other places, and those who just want to check out what Christians do at a Sunday service. We believe that even if you are joining us just for one Sunday, God has drawn you here to meet with Him.

Can children come too? Yes! We are a family church and there will be children of all ages at the service.  During school Term Times, we have “KBC Kids” where children go to their own group during the service.
For details about the various groups we offer please click here.

Disability Access? Our main areas are single level without steps.  As our driveway and parking area is not sealed, you are welcome to drive up to the concreted area in front of the main entrance. We have “blue badge” parking spaces in the front carpark, nearest the entrance, if you can manage a short walk. If you need help please ask one of the welcoming team at the front door or contact us here.

How do we dress? Just come in clothing you feel comfortable in. Being a holiday centre and in a warmer climate we are used to casual attire. Some of us might have taken the chance to dress up a little - so you will fit in somewhere in that wide range.
